Our Quality

At the end of a project, we want you to be as satisfied as these clients.

Elsa Marshall, Community Legal Education Coordinator, Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis
"I have been to the Transcend website OFTEN and read most of your materials. You are amazing and I feel lucky to learn from you."

Cristina Llop, San Francisco Court Self-Help Center, Former Director
"I first started working with Transcend in 2002. As the director of the San Francisco Superior Court’s civil self-help center, my first priority was to develop informational and educational materials that were user friendly, multilingual, and could reach as many San Franciscans as possible. It was crucial that the materials be not only in plain English, but be translated into our five target languages in a manner that was culturally sensitive and appropriate. Without Maria Mindlin and the staff at Transcend, we would not have been able to create these documents. Ultimately, the materials were so successful that they have been adapted and reproduced for statewide and national use by other courts and legal services agencies attempting to improve access to the courts by their users and clients.

Maria has also taught several courses on Plain Language for Lawyers at Judicial Council sponsored conferences focused on services to self-represented litigants. Through these workshops, self-help and legal aid attorneys and legal assistants throughout the state have learned how to communicate effectively with non-lawyers in order to convey complex legal information. The skills gained by workshop attendees to more effectively, efficiently, and accurately communicate with clients ultimately results in the improved delivery of legal services throughout the state."

Professor Almerindo Ojeda, University of California, Davis
"The UC Davis Center for the Study of Human Rights in the Americas (CSHRA) wishes to commend Transcend for its pro bono translation, of the 161-page memoir by Swedish Guantanamo prisoner Mehdi Ghezali. The translation, from Swedish to English, culminated in a work of publishable quality which is now in the permanent collection of testimonies constituting CSHRA's Guantanamo Testimonials Project. Because of the quality of the translation, customer service, and commitment to the community, we wholeheartedly recommend Transcend to any agency in need of translation services."

AJ Tavares, I-CAN! Project Manager, Legal Aid Society of Orange County
"I have worked with the team from Transcend since 2001 to develop plain language information and website content in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Portuguese, and Somali. Transcend's efforts and recommendations have allowed the quality, readability, and comprehension for our website users to improve over time. Transcend's ability to deliver on time as promised allows us to meet our deployment goals every time."
