"I first started working with Transcend in 2002. As the director of the San Francisco Superior Court’s civil self-help center, my first priority was to develop informational and educational materials that were user friendly, multilingual, and could reach as many San Franciscans as possible. It was crucial that the materials be not only in plain English, but be translated into our five target languages in a manner that was culturally sensitive and appropriate.
